Keyshia Cole took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce that she is retiring from music, and fans are not excited about the Grammy-nominated singers’ choice. Some comments included, “I know you’re lying,” “You winning right now . . . stay focus,” and “So we ain’t getting an album anymore?” While Keyshia’s new single, I Don’t Want to Be in Love, is steadily rising in the charts, she decided that it is time to retire so that her children can be more of her focus.
Many fans continued speculating that Keyshia’s account was hacked. Still, it was indeed her making the announcement and also letting fans know that she will continue making the album because, “I’m already contracted to do so, I wouldn’t do that to BMG, myself, or my fans. But I’m gonna have to move at my pace with this one. #Album 8.”
While Cole is only 39-years-young, she has made hits that will always play on our Apple iPod, starting back to her debut single Never released in 2004 and in 2005 her debut album The Way It Is. Personally, my favorite single was Let it Go Ft. Missy Elliot, released in 2007. However, Cole has delivered other charts hitting singles such as I Remember and Heaven Sent in 2008. Not forgetting her latest album, 11:11 Reset, released back in October 2017, with features including but not limited to Young Thug, Remy Ma, French Montana, and others. Cole has other chart-topping projects and singles in between and has brought much peace and joy to the music industry; she was definitely heaven-sent, and we will never forget her contribution to the music world. So, be on the lookout for the new album. In the meantime, take yourself back down memory lane during summer time and listen to some of those throwbacks.
