There was a time and era where the internet and Twitter had a say. Hence, the magazine and, of course, the awards made sure you understood what Hip- Hop was all about and made the space to celebrate new, seasoned artists that had made their twist to the genre a must!
Source Awards and its platform provided space and a battle ground where new rappers and seasoned rappers would celebrate this year’s hottest artist as well as giving some artists their flowers or recognition. By Source awards returning and becoming a channel, this can expand the brand after a seventeen-year hiatus and make the brand a full own black owned corporation for the first time since it’s hiatus and even creation. As many don’t know, the conversation of returning the source has been in the works for years. As mentioned before, it’s finally black–owned for the first time, and with that being said, it will also be brought into the digital world.
The new edition of the Source awards would be brought to its audience hopefully by 2022.
After 17 years, there is now a founder change, historical and different types of beef, and change in the genre. We will see what the future holds for this platform and, of course, all great vibes and new perspectives.
