Herdyne Mercier, LCSW, has dedicated her career to one transformative mission: helping people heal from grief and reclaim the joy of living. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Grief Coach, author, nonprofit founder, and retreat facilitator, Mercier blends clinical expertise with lived experience, creating spaces where individuals, couples, families, and communities can navigate heartbreak, loss, and emotional transitions with intention and support.

Through her organization L.I.V.E., her speaking engagements, and her work alongside her husband and business partner, Dr. Jameson Mercier, she has become a trusted voice in both therapeutic and heart-centered spaces. Her influence extends beyond traditional counseling, reaching audiences through the Redefining Grief Podcast, where she leads honest conversations that challenge outdated narratives and encourage emotional transparency.
Mercier’s impact continues to grow with the upcoming release of her first children’s book, Mommy, What’s That Feeling?, set for April 2026. Designed to help young readers identify and express complex emotions, the book reflects her belief that emotional intelligence and resilience begin early, equipping children with tools to navigate life’s challenges from a grounded place.
Her work is rooted in balance and intentionality. While she pours into others, Mercier emphasizes the importance of maintaining her own emotional wellness. “I make sure my cup is always full,” she shares. “I prioritize joy, laughing, singing, and spending time with family. I cannot serve others from an empty place.” She credits working alongside her husband as a grounding influence, helping her maintain balance and reminding her to rest when needed.
Mercier’s career has evolved organically from clinical practice to authorship, speaking, and retreat facilitation. “I show up every day speaking about grief with love and wisdom, which has opened doors to spaces where I can educate others,” she explains. “My goal is to create ‘grief crusaders’—people who understand how to anchor themselves in grief and still live fully.”
Her books, Restored and Release, offer guided spaces for processing grief, helping individuals restore themselves, release pain, and step into abundance without denying the realities of loss. With her children’s book, Mercier aims to fill a critical gap: teaching kids how to recognize and express emotions, laying a foundation for lifelong emotional resilience.
Rest and restoration are essential to her practice, and she models that for her audience. Prayer, family time, gardening, working out, and even joining an adult kickball team are all ways she nurtures her own joy and energy.
Through every platform—books, retreats, podcast, and speaking engagements—Herdyne Mercier continues to inspire a new approach to grief: one that embraces the pain, honors the process, and ultimately empowers individuals to live fully, even in the face of loss. Her work is a reminder that grief does not have to define us, and with the right guidance, we can transform it into a pathway for healing, growth, and joy.
