Award-Winning Black-Owned Media Company Tivid TV Studios Expands to Texas as Demand Surges for Cinematic Community Storytelling

A Black-owned media company founded by filmmakers Chris and McKenzy Bowers is expanding its footprint in Texas as demand nationwide grows for cinematic storytelling that helps communities and organizations elevate their identity, visibility, tourism potential, and economic impact.

Tivid TV Studios, now headquartered just outside of Austin, built its early momentum in Florida’s production ecosystem near Full Sail University, one of the largest and most influential film and entertainment media schools in the United States.

The studio gained early national visibility through cultural storytelling initiatives connected to EBONY Media Group, a historic national media brand that has documented Black leadership, culture, and economic advancement for nearly 80 years. Working alongside EBONY and Visit Orlando, the studio helped visually highlight the historic Black roots of Orlando, featuring cultural institutions including the Zora Neale Hurston Museum of Fine Arts in Eatonville, the first incorporated Black municipality in the United States, and the Wells’Built Museum of African American History, a landmark preserving African American history in Central Florida.

For founders Chris and McKenzy Bowers, the collaboration reinforced the role visual storytelling can play in documenting culture, community identity, and economic opportunity.

Today, Tivid TV Studios is expanding its operations into Texas as organizations, communities, and brands increasingly seek cinematic media to elevate their presence and communicate the vision behind their growth.

“We’re excited to partner with local businesses, communities, and municipalities to tell stories that truly reflect their identity and momentum. When those stories are told with intention, they don’t just inform—they attract, inspire, and drive real economic growth. We’re seeing more leaders recognize that, and it’s opening the door for communities to show the world what they’re building,” stated Chris & McKenzy Bowers, Co-Founders of Tivid TV Studios.

The studio’s growing national footprint mirrors a broader trend in strategic communications, where communities and organizations are investing in cinematic storytelling to strengthen brand identity, attract visitors and business investment, and amplify the stories that shape regional growth.

The work of Chris and McKenzy Bowers and Tivid TV Studios has drawn national recognition, with features from top media outlets.

In 2023, the company received a Silver Stevie Award from the American Business Awards, recognizing excellence in innovation and entrepreneurship.

As the company expands across Texas, Tivid TV Studios plans to continue partnering with communities, organizations, and cultural institutions seeking to elevate their stories and showcase the leadership, culture, and momentum shaping their regions.
