This Women’s History Month, the spotlight turns to Lynbea Toombs, a dynamic force in branding, communications, and leadership development who is challenging the notion that women must shrink themselves to fit into predefined roles. With more than a decade of experience and a national senior leadership position achieved by the age of 29, Toombs has built a career rooted in strategy, purpose, and bold authenticity.
Now serving as the Principal Brand and Communications Consultant for BeaBold Branding and Communications Collective, she dedicates her work to helping women fully own their stories. Her academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Hampton University and a Master of Education from the College of William and Mary, equipping her with both the technical expertise and the strategic insight to navigate complex professional landscapes.

Toombs describes herself as a practitioner of the pivot, a reflection of her multidimensional career that spans nonprofit, higher education, tourism, wine, and entertainment. Her leadership extends beyond her professional work, as she also serves as Graduate Chapter President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, where she continues to lead with intention and impact.
For young women aspiring to leadership, Toombs offers advice grounded in both confidence and clarity. She emphasizes the importance of owning one’s voice, expertise, and accomplishments without hesitation. Reflecting on her own journey, she recalls being told she was too young or inexperienced when considering a leadership role. Instead of internalizing those doubts, she chose to focus on her track record, recognizing the years of experience and results she had already built. Her message is direct: document your wins, claim them boldly, and trust that opportunity does not arrive by accident.
Her perspective on work and life challenges traditional ideas of balance. Rather than striving for perfect equilibrium, Toombs embraces rhythm. Some seasons require intense focus and energy, while others allow for rest and recalibration. She maintains this flow through intentional planning, prioritizing commitments across professional, personal, and social spaces. Central to her approach is the discipline of saying no and the practice of scheduling time for rest, including dedicated days where she disconnects completely. For her, success is not about constant motion but about knowing when to pause.
When it comes to inspiration, Toombs does not point to a single figure. Instead, she draws strength from the collective power of women who live authentically and unapologetically. She finds motivation in the everyday excellence of women who choose to walk in their truth, demonstrating that power is not something granted but something cultivated from within.
Through her work and leadership, Toombs hopes young women understand that their presence in any space is built long before they arrive. Leadership is not defined solely by a title but by the preparation, strategy, and intentionality that happen behind the scenes. She wants women to see that living boldly, with integrity and purpose, opens doors that no one can close.
Lynbea Toombs is not just shaping brands. She is shaping mindsets, reminding women that their stories, their voices, and their power are more than enough to carry them into any room they choose to enter.
