New York artist Rian Wyldreleased her new song “Poppin’” exclusively on the digital music platform EVEN today. The first of several singles scheduled to drop throughout 2026, she looks to set the tone for the remainder of the year.
EVEN is a direct-to-fan music platform that allows artists to sell music and exclusive content directly to listeners. Fans can access songs before they reach streaming services and choose how much to pay. The platform also supports sales of merchandise and special experiences. Purchases on EVEN count toward Billboard charts, and artists receive fan data and payouts through the service.
With her new single, the multifaceted artist is paying homage to the streets that made her in a new, aggressive song with bars to match. Throughout the track, she exudes the kind of confidence required to succeed in a male-dominated industry where women are often silenced.
“Poppin’” is me wanting to be an example of a woman standing strong in her convictions and beliefs, even in the face of opposition who try to dim your light,” she explains. “You don’t ever have to stop shining for someone else’s comfort, no matter who they are!”
Rian Wyld was brought to the forefront of hip-hop national media coverage due to a public feud with iconic record producer Timbaland. After a seemingly innocuous disagreement on social media, the widely respected hitmaker bombarded the emerging female indie artist’s Instagram posts with a series of disparaging remarks.
In what Allhiphop called “A blistering diss,” Rian released the song “Comments” and took the music legend to task on a few of his recent controversies, including his publicized intentions to launch an AI-based record label, which has been widely perceived as attempting to exclude human artists from future opportunities.
The result was more than one million impressions across major platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, Threads, and YouTube. She has also received coverage from leading outlets such as Urban Magazine, SYL Media, FEMI Magazine, Hype Magazine, and additional publications.
“Poppin’” is now available exclusively on EVEN and will arrive on music streaming platforms on January 28th.
