Actress, writer, and now author Daneshia Drakeford is stepping into a new season of transparency and triumph with the release of her memoir, Silent Battles, arriving October 27, 2025, through Jacinth Media Productions and available on Amazon Books.
In Silent Battles, Daneshia courageously pulls back the curtain on the struggles she once carried in silence. She opens up about living with multiple sclerosis, the heartbreak of divorce, the weight of caregiving, and the miraculous birth of her son. The book is a raw, faith-filled journey through pain, perseverance, and personal redemption.
“People see my strength, but they don’t always see the pain behind it,” says Daneshia. “This book is my way of standing fully in my truth and letting others know they are not alone in their battles.”

While many fans know her from her work on screen, Silent Battles marks the first time she shares the private journey behind the public smile. Her story reaches far beyond entertainment, speaking to anyone navigating unseen struggles and searching for light through darkness.
When asked what gave her the courage to finally share her story, Daneshia says it came from realizing how many people continue to live in silence. “So many are afraid of being judged or misunderstood,” she explains. “We all face silent battles, and I knew that my story might help someone else who was struggling in the dark. Over time, I felt a pull to share my experiences to create connection and offer hope. It was one of the most vulnerable things I’ve ever done, but it was necessary.”
Living with multiple sclerosis has reshaped the way she approaches both her craft and her well-being. “When I was first diagnosed, it felt like my world stopped,” she recalls. “But MS wasn’t the end of my story — it simply changed how I live it. It taught me patience, gratitude, and grace. In this industry, it’s easy to chase perfection, but my diagnosis made me slow down and be intentional. I learned that strength isn’t always about pushing through; sometimes it’s just about showing up, even on the hard days. You have MS; MS doesn’t have you.”
One of the most moving parts of her story is the birth of her son — a moment she describes as nothing short of miraculous. “There were moments when I questioned if motherhood was even possible for me,” she shares. “But when I held my son for the first time, I knew every tear and prayer led to that exact moment. It strengthened my faith in ways I can’t describe. My son gives me purpose and reminds me that love and faith are stronger than any diagnosis.”
Through heartbreak, divorce, and health battles, Daneshia found strength through faith, prayer, and grace. “There were times when I felt completely broken, but it was in those quiet, painful spaces that I found myself again,” she says. “Healing isn’t linear. It takes time and compassion. Every battle taught me resilience and helped me see my story not as one of suffering, but survival.”
Her hope is that Silent Battles will inspire readers to embrace their own truth and find strength in their scars.
“I want readers to know that perseverance isn’t about never falling — it’s about rising again, even when it hurts,” she says. “Faith doesn’t erase the struggle; it gives it meaning. Your scars don’t define you; they refine you. And no matter what you’re facing, you are never fighting alone.”
