Black women face unique challenges that can impact mental health, including systemic racism, sexism, economic stress, and the emotional labor of caring for others. Despite these pressures, cultural narratives often insist that Black women remain strong at all times. This can make it difficult to acknowledge struggles or seek help, even when mental wellness is critical. Prioritizing mental health is essential for relationships, careers, and overall well-being.

The My MIND is Fine Conference, taking place Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 12 PM – 4 PM CDT at the Hilton Chicago / Oak Lawn, Illinois, provides an empowering space for Black women to focus on healing, mindset mastery, and personal growth. Attendees will gain access to keynote speakers, interactive sessions, and practical tools to improve mental wellness and emotional resilience.
“Taking care of your mind is an act of resistance and of love.”

At the helm of this transformative conference is Jalinia Logan, MSW, LCSW, CCATP, LPN, a licensed psychotherapist, guidance counselor, and entrepreneur dedicated to supporting Black women through mental health advocacy and personal development. Logan is the founder and CEO of her own wellness and counseling practice, where she has guided countless women to reclaim mental and emotional wellness, develop healthy coping strategies, and cultivate confidence in both personal and professional spheres.
Under her leadership, the My MIND is Fine platform has grown into a nationally recognized initiative that combines therapeutic expertise with actionable guidance, empowerment workshops, and mentorship programs for Black women seeking mental clarity and self-mastery.
Mental health challenges disproportionately affect Black women, yet treatment is often underutilized. Depression and anxiety are common, but cultural stigma and the “Strong Black Woman” narrative discourage seeking support. Chronic stress from caregiving, workplace inequities, and systemic discrimination can further strain mental wellness. Recognizing these realities is the first step toward self-care and healing.

Quick Ways to Support Your Mental Health:
- Dedicate 10 minutes daily to meditation or deep breathing.
- Journal your feelings to process emotions.
- Schedule counseling sessions with culturally competent therapists.
- Join peer support groups or sister circles for shared experiences.

The My MIND is Fine Conference is more than an event; it’s a restorative experience. It creates space for Black women to connect, learn, and thrive. Attendees are encouraged to:
- Come with intention: Identify goals like gaining clarity, healing, or strategies for self-care.
- Bring support: Attend with friends, sisters, or mentors.
- Journal insights: Capture actionable steps during sessions.
- Follow through: Implement strategies learned post-event.
- Protect your peace: Engage with content that serves you and step away from what feels overwhelming.
