Pardon My Fro Brings Bold Beauty to CVS with a Purpose

Last Saturday, natural hair met national spotlight as Pardon My Fro brought its unapologetically vibrant energy to CVS with a curated pop-up experience that celebrated self-love, culture, and curls. Helmed by Charlotte-based creative entrepreneur Dana Bly, the event wasn’t just a brand activation — it was a bold declaration: Black women belong at the center of beauty. Adding extra flair and laughter to the experience was social media favorite and comedian Not Karlton Banks, who brought comedic relief and community connection in equal measure.

DANA BLY: BUILDING A BRAND WITH INTENTION

As a self-taught graphic designer and powerhouse creative, Dana Bly didn’t wait for the beauty world to make space — she carved her own lane. Pardon My Fro is a lifestyle brand built to reflect the style, spirit, and soul of Black women everywhere. From satin-lined accessories to vibrant home decor and curl-friendly hair products, the brand is rooted in one mission: representation with joy.

With her latest retail expansion into CVS stores, Dana is breaking barriers and beautifying aisles that have long lacked cultural authenticity. “It’s not just about the products — it’s about the message. We deserve to see ourselves reflected, affirmed, and celebrated,” she shared with FEMI.

THE EXPERIENCE: BEAUTY, COMEDY & COMMUNITY

Guests who attended the Atlanta-based pop-up were treated to more than just shopping — they stepped into a full-on vibe. Product stations, interactive moments, and Instagram-worthy photo ops were just the beginning. The highlight? A special appearance by Not Karlton Banks, whose comedic storytelling reminded guests of the power of laughter, identity, and owning your narrative. “This event is about loving yourself out loud,” he said, “and Dana is giving that energy with every curl cream and every canvas bag!”

EMPOWERMENT BEYOND THE HAIR AISLE

This activation was about more than hair — it was a statement of empowerment. From business owners and influencers to young girls exploring their texture journey, the energy in the room was one of inspiration. Guests walked away with more than product samples — they left feeling seen, affirmed, and stylishly equipped to embrace their crowns.

At a time when authenticity often gets filtered, Pardon My Fro is proof that staying true to yourself — and your roots — is the real flex. Dana Bly’s journey is a testament to the power of vision, representation, and fearless creativity. As PMF continues to expand, so does the message: Black beauty is not a trend — it’s a legacy.
