Huntsville, AL (May 22, 2025) – Tilted Crowns Productions announced today that its original show Charnita’s World has received the Silver Award for Best Reality Series in the record breaking 46th Annual Telly Awards. The event honors excellence in video and television across all screens, and is judged by leaders from video platforms, television, streaming networks and production companies. This year’s winners include Pixar Animation Studios, Hearst Media, ESPN, LinkedIn, Nato, MTV Entertainment Studios, NASA, the LA Clippers (NBA), Sawhouse Productions, Telemundo and more.

Tilted Crowns Productions consists of a powerhouse tandem of TV star and serial entrepreneur Melody Shari and her accomplished partner Dawn Michelle, who collectively possess over 30 years of experience in entertainment. Through their company, they aim to merge educational and entertaining content that uplifts and empowers the community. Leaders at the Telly Awards have taken note of their remarkable contributions within the industry in a span of only two years.
“Our industry is experimenting with new technologies like never before, shaping truly compelling stories to draw attention to some of the world’s most pressing issues,” shares Telly Awards Managing Director Amanda Needham. “The Telly Awards is uniquely positioned to meet the industry where it’s actually making work, be that on television or TikTok.”
Melody Shari is the first reality TV star ever to own a network – Nubian TV. The multi-talented media maven has assembled a team to bring important content to viewers and Charnita’s World, which just wrapped up Season 2, is a prime example.
“As part-owner of Nubian TV, I am so excited for what the future holds. To be an Alabama-based, black woman-owned production company, we are extremely honored to be receiving this distinguished award,” Melody Shari said.
“We shot Charnita’s World in Birmingham, AL, and [Charnita Horton] and her husband are multi-business owners and are multi-millionaires doing great things in their community. To premiere it on Nubian and to win an award against such stiff competition while the show is still in its infancy is an amazing accomplishment. Now we’re on to higher heights and new beginnings. The marathon continues.”
Committed to pushing the boundaries of creativity forward, this year’s new categories at the Telly Awards included topics with Film & Shorts, Outdoor & Adventure and Brand Partnerships. These categories centered on stories and collaborations that are actively evolving within the video and television industry.
