SouthSide Soul’s Young & Gifted All-Star Camp Returns to Empower Atlanta’s Next Generation of Creative Leaders

As summer approaches and youth across Metro Atlanta seek meaningful ways to grow, The SouthSide Soul Young & Gifted All-Star Camp emerges as a powerful force for creative exploration, leadership, and personal development.

From June 9 through July 11, 2025, IM1 Studios in East Point will host this dynamic five-week intensive, welcoming 50 student-artists ages 6–18. More than just a camp, it’s a launchpad for young leaders—on stage and in life.

Now in its fourth year, the camp was founded by James Weaver IV, CEO of The SouthSide Soul Youth Empowerment Program. What began in 2022 with just six participants has grown into one of Atlanta’s most impactful summer experiences for youth in the arts.

Participants receive hands-on training in music production, DJing, songwriting, digital media, content creation, and brand development, while also developing self-confidence, discipline, and leadership skills. The results speak volumes. Camp alumni have performed at events such as Atlanta Hawks games, Emory University programs, and the NAACP Juneteenth Gala. More importantly, they leave with mentorship, vision, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Studies consistently show that youth engaged in the arts perform better academically and are twice as likely to excel in leadership roles. Seventy percent report improved confidence and decision-making—benefits that extend far beyond the studio.

To continue making this opportunity accessible to youth in underserved neighborhoods, The SouthSide Soul Youth Empowerment Program is calling on the Metro Atlanta community for support. Donations will help cover essential costs including studio space, meals, transportation, field trips, and music video production.

A special fundraising event, “1 Song Can Change Your Life” Youth Summit, will take place on Sunday, May 25. All proceeds will benefit this summer’s programming.
