BET+ Unveils Gripping New Thriller The Accused, Starring Lawrence Saint-Victor and Paige Audrey-Marie Hurd

BET+ is set to debut its latest original movie, The Accused, on Thursday, April 10. The movie features an all-star cast that includes Lawrence Saint-Victor, Paige Audrey-Marie Hurd, and Crystal Lee Brown.

Best known for his role as Carter Walton on The Bold and the Beautiful, Lawrence Saint-Victor takes center stage as Detective Lance Branson, a man determined to uncover the truth amid a tangled web of corruption and secrets. Paige Audrey-Marie Hurd stars as Dani West, a woman wrongly accused and forced to go on the run. Using her intellect and strength, Dani fights to clear her name before it’s too late.

In a virtual press conference held earlier this week, the cast shared their experiences filming the emotionally charged and suspenseful scenes. While each actor approached their role with depth and dedication, they collectively emphasized how intense yet rewarding the process was. Many noted how emotionally taxing certain moments were, but equally fulfilling, given the weight and relevance of the story being told.

Beyond the action and suspense, The Accused aims to spark conversation around justice, systemic corruption, and personal redemption. The film also weaves in a powerful soundtrack featuring music from the legendary MC Lyte, elevating the tone and emotion of several key moments.

Directed by Tony Glazer and based on a story by Pat White, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Clarence Williams, the film was brought to life by a powerhouse production team including Pierre Romain, Julie Solinger, Summer Crocket Moore, JD DeWitt, and Tony Glazer himself.

Joining the leads are Summer Crockett Moore as Detective Nadine Styles, Nicole G. Leier as Felicia, Manny Perez as Detective Bobby Rios, and Rockmond Dunbar as Marcus Wainwright, rounding out a dynamic and talented ensemble.

The Accused is a joint effort by Worldwide Entertainment and Media, Fear Not Productions, and Choice Films. As part of BET+, the movie aligns with the platform’s mission of celebrating and streaming Black culture through compelling, relevant, and thought-provoking content.

With its gripping storyline, stellar performances, and timely themes, The Accused is more than just a movie, it’s a statement.
