Atlanta, GA – March 9, 2025 – Women’s History Month kicked off with an unforgettable Women Making History Weekend, an inspiring and empowering event celebrating female leaders, entrepreneurs, and media moguls. Powered by Media Girls Network and Girl Boss Suites, in collaboration with Councilwoman Andrea Boone, this prestigious gathering took place at Atlanta City Hall on March 7th, uniting an incredible lineup of women who are making history in their respective industries.

The event featured keynote speeches,performances, and an awards ceremony to recognize women breaking barriers in business, media, entertainment, and entrepreneurship.






2025 Women Making History Honorees
- OMG Girlz (Zonnique Pullins, Bahja Rodriguez, Breaunna Womack) – Honored for their impact in music, entertainment, and female empowerment.
- Heiress Harris – Recognized as a young entrepreneur and rising star in entertainment at just 7 years old.
- Alexis Skyy – Celebrated for her contributions to entrepreneurship and advocacy for young women.
- Mz. Shyneka – Honored for her trailblazing career in radio and media.
- Tamira Smith – Honored for her contributions to the media and radio industry.
- Christina Granville (Ms. Basketball) – Recognized for her work as a sports host and media personality.
- Jojo Alonso – Celebrated for her influence in media, entertainment, and social impact.
- Halani Lobdell – Honored for her leadership as a businesswoman and mentor.
- Psiryn (Jada Denise, Anaya Chayenne, and Victoria McQueen) – Psiryn is an R&B girl group originally formed by Kandi Burruss, Their debut track, “Sober,” reached the No. 1 position on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart in February 2025, marking the first time a girl group has held this spot since 2003
In addition to the honorees, the event featured special guest speakers who shared their inspiring journeys and insights on leadership, success, and breaking barriers.
Councilwoman Andrea Boone emphasized the importance of celebrating women’s achievements and creating more opportunities for women to excel in leadership roles, media influence, leaving attendees inspired and motivated to continue making history.
“This weekend was about honoring the women who are shaping culture, breaking down barriers, and paving the way for the next generation,” said Jelisa Raquel, founder of Media Girls Network. “From seasoned industry leaders to young innovators like Heiress Harris, we are celebrating women at every level who are making history in real time.”
The Women Making History Weekend was a monumental occasion, reinforcing the power of sisterhood, leadership, and innovation among today’s most influential women.
The Media Girls Women’s International Day Celebration was the perfect way to commemorate International Women’s Day and wrap up an impactful weekend. Guests enjoyed a luxurious and rejuvenating experience, featuring gel manicures, yoga, sound bowl healing, and a guided journaling session. The event also included live performances, a curated dining experience, and handcrafted cocktails, complemented by fine wines from St. Julian Winery.
The tour is headed to Detroit City Hall on March 14th, and on March 28th the Women Making History tour will end.
