In less than 10 days, a new ribbon-cutting ceremony will inaugurate Engage Studios, a collaborative trio, comprising Ronnie Carew, owner of Engage Content Studios, Adrienne “Chaelle” Dean, owner of Chaelle Visuals LLC, and Stephanie Kigenyi – owner of The Mimi Warren Agency.
I had the opportunity to chat with this dynamic trio about their process and creative flow, here’s what they had to say:
How do you approach collaboration within the creative team? Can you share an example of a successful project you worked on together?
Our approach to collaboration is rooted in seamless communication, respect for each other’s expertise, and a shared commitment to excellence. Every project begins with brainstorming sessions where ideas flow freely, ensuring goal alignment. A great example is when we collaborated on a branding campaign for a career coach. Chaelle Visuals provided high-quality photography and videography, The Mimi Warren Agency crafted the messaging strategy, and Engage Content Studios offered a versatile space for filming and workshops. The outcome was a dynamic and engaging campaign that resonated with their target audience. Additionally, we’ve recently introduced content creator packages, enabling creators to rent studio time and professional equipment, fostering collaboration and creativity.
What does your creative process look like when starting a new project? How do you ensure that each team member’s input is valued?
We begin with a discovery session to align on the client’s vision and goals. Each team member brings their expertise to the table, whether it’s visual storytelling, strategy, or logistics. Feedback is encouraged throughout the process. For example, when we worked on developing services for motivational speakers, we collaborated to ensure the packages included everything they might need—from photography for promotional materials to video production for keynote recordings and a studio for workshops or meetings. This collaborative approach ensures every team member’s input is reflected in the final product.
What are some common challenges you face as a creative team, and how do you overcome them?
One of the challenges we face is managing diverse client needs while staying true to our creative standards. We address this by clearly defining deliverables and maintaining open communication throughout the process. Another challenge is balancing schedules across three businesses, which we resolve through detailed planning and prioritization.
How do you handle constructive criticism among team members? Can you provide an example of how feedback improved a project?
Constructive criticism is key to delivering our best work. We approach it with respect and focus on the project’s success rather than individual preferences. For instance, during the creation of a promotional campaign for a motivational speaker, feedback from The Mimi Warren Agency on how to better engage the target audience led Chaelle Visuals to adjust the visual layout for clearer storytelling. Engage Content Studios contributed by suggesting the inclusion of a workshop package and videos that showcased the speaker’s expertise. This collaboration resulted in a more impactful and cohesive final product.
Where do you find inspiration for your work? How does this influence your creative output as a team?
Our inspiration comes from entrepreneurs. Their passion and drive fuel our creativity. We also draw from trends in design, storytelling, and technology. For example, our studio is designed to support workshops and meetings, offering a professional yet inspiring environment for creators and entrepreneurs alike. This focus on innovation and versatility influences the services we offer, from photography and video production to social media management and virtual assistance.
How do you translate a client’s vision? What steps do you take to ensure that the final product meets their expectations?
We prioritize understanding the client’s goals through discovery sessions, mood boards, and consistent communication. Our process includes drafts, prototypes, and regular feedback loops. We offer comprehensive services like promotional photography, branded videos, website design, and even virtual assistance to manage their operations. By tailoring our approach to their specific needs, we ensure the final product not only meets but exceeds their expectations.
What are your long-term goals for your creative work, and how do you see the team evolving over the next few years?
Our long-term goals are to grow and scale our business, creating employment opportunities for others and opening additional locations. We aim to continue empowering entrepreneurs by being their one-stop solution for branding and business needs, helping them elevate their brands and achieve greater impact.
