Exclusive Interview: Yandy Smith-Harris and Porsha Williams on Sisterhood and Business

Last weekend, a time was had. The ultimate party and shopping experience. Something different, fun, free, and fabulous, friends, and family. Where else can you get that type of experience and more? Bloomingdale’s, of course.

That’s right, from May 16th-May 19th the ladies of reality TV, Yandy Smith-Harris (Love and Hip Hop Atlanta) and Porsha Williams (Real Housewives of Atlanta) paired up for their ‘Sisters United’ event. Not only are both ladies beautiful and talented, but they are goal-oriented, and business-minded. With each of the ladies being mogul powerhouses, it was only fitting that they brought their respective brands to the mecca of elegance. Bloomingdale’s and FEMI Magazine were there to capture the moments as well as speak with both ladies.

Yandy Smith-Harris, whose Yelle Skincare brand previously had a soft launch in Bloomingdale’s earlier this year, was onsite to not only engage with the fans and the followers, but she also wanted to educate them on her products and proper skincare routines. Due to a successful soft launch, Smith-Harris was invited back and this time she brought her friend, Porsha Williams. Porsha is widely known for her presence on the popular reality show, Real Housewives of Atlanta, but has garnered additional notoriety with her popular hair brand, Go Naked Hair. Porsha’s brand has been so successful that she is back with another one, Pampered By Porsha, her elegantly soft sheet line that is now also available in Bloomingdale’s.

During our recent interview, the pair discussed the importance of supporting one another and making sure that you have a business bestie and someone who is there to support you not only just during personal issues, but when it comes to business, branding, and networking. This mindset birthed their “Sisters United” campaign in which the two have been doing media and press sharing their experience in the business realm and their friendship together. Their infectious positivity and support for one another is motivating and refreshing to see. Yandy gushed over the fact of being able to walk to the bedding section in Bloomingdale’s and speak to her friend and sister Porsha. This union nonetheless is applauded, much needed, and encouraged. I think it is safe to say that we could all use a business bestie or accountability partner to motivate us to start that business, set those goals, and crush the goals.

We have our business besties, do you? If not, Yandy Smith-Harris and Porsha Williams have more than enough room for new business besties, and we would love to see them.
