“Made by Maddie is a show we acquired several years ago from Silvergate Media, a renowned production company we have previously worked with on other series. Since announcing the show’s premiere date this week, we have been listening closely to the commentary, criticism and concern coming from both viewers and members of the creative community.
In response, and out of respect to all voices in the conversation, we are removing the show from our schedule as we garner further insight into the creative journey of the show. We are grateful to Silvergate Media for all of their work. And we hold Matthew A. Cherry and the wonderful and inspiring Hair Love in the highest regard.”
We’ve waited for so long to have more diverse content in animated series. Nick Jr heard us and is now releasing the preschool series known as Made by Maddie. Created by Paula Rosenthal and produced by Silvergate Media; this new series will grace our screens for 22, half-hour episodes. Based in New York City, the main character, Maddie, loves fashion. She uses her big imagination and design skills to fix every problem in a fashion forward way.
The show will air on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at 11:00 AM EST. Fueled by her mantra of dream it, draw it, make it; Maddie uses her adventurous spirit to find solutions to her everyday problems. With the help of her family and three close friends, Maddie stays on the move. This fun-loving animated series showcases the Black family in a strong light that viewers have been longing for.
Maddie has a big personality and a huge heart which make her ever changing design inspirations fun for kids of all ages. This season is also filled with many guest voice appearances from: Karamo Brown (Queer Eye); Wanya Morris (Boyz II Men); and Al Roker (The Today Show). Led by her fashion designer Mom and musician Dad, Maddie is always up for escapades one dazzling design at a time. Made by Maddie also instills the values of being unique, using kindness and embracing individuality while taking risks. This new series is a certified gem for young children everywhere.
