The PINNACLE Award is a very prestigious award. Some of the past recipients have been Rev. Al Sharpton, Pam Perry, LaJuanna Russell, Shawn Fair and more. The chosen recipients of the list are always carefully selected and this year, Jada Pinkett Smith was awarded by Rodney C. Burris.
She was selected because she has a long legacy of representing black voices — especially women — to large audiences around the world. She is also considered a flower from the cement streets of Baltimore MD.
Rodney mentions that his role is to scout individuals who believe in the spirit and promise of Baltimore. He states that when he met with Jada Pinkett Smith, these were some of the things they discussed.
There is joy in knowing that she is on board and has an amazing history of giving to Charm City, Baltimore he said.
Congrats to Jada Pinkett Smith and be sure to check out her book, Worthy.
