NEW RANDOLPH BLACK-OWNED AFRICAN MARKET LAUNCHES ON SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY

NEW RANDOLPH BLACK-OWNED AFRICAN MARKET LAUNCHES ON SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY

Bringing fresh, authentic African and Caribbean produce right to Massachusetts

(RANDOLPH, MA, OCTOBER 2021) –– Brand new small business Destiny African Market & Variety Store is officially opening its doors on November 1st and hosting its grand opening on Small Business Saturday: November 27, 2021, at 502 South Main Street next to Hertz car rental. Created by local entrepreneur Sola Ajao, a long term resident of Randolph for over 21 years, Destiny African Market sells authentic African foods, drinks, and snacks straight from the motherland, including raw produce and hard-to-find products that aren’t readily available in the States (think Indomie [Nigeria’s version of ramen noodles!], Ribena, cassava grain, and more).

Destiny African Market will especially serve the African and Caribbean community with their native tropical foods under the care and management of Ajao, who is a mother, caretaker, and licensed food caterer. African food is her longtime passion, even being affectionately known in the Nigerian community of Massachusetts as the best Jollof rice maker. Today, she’s bringing her expertise and energy to the brick-and-mortar space.

“We are excited to celebrate the opening of our store on Small Business Saturday. Fueling the economy of Randolph is one of my dreams,” said Ajao, whose own children and relatives have gone on to start businesses of their own. “We want to give people a shopping experience that resonates with African culture like never before.”

Small Business Saturday® is the perfect opportunity to support small businesses in light of the holiday season, which is why it was created by American Express on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. #ShopSmall this year and discover Destiny African Market & Variety Store and its grand opening!
