I am a firm believer that if you gaze at the stars long enough, if you reach for the stars long enough, eventually you\u2019ll reach out and touch one. What\u2019s to stop one from grabbing a handful? Once you\u2019ve realized that anything is possible, what does that look like? Even better, once you live in your purpose. I\u2019m not saying that those who are more privileged don\u2019t have the ability to dream\u2026but there\u2019s something about a dreamer who comes from \u201cless\u201d. Uncertainty brings certainty. When you don\u2019t have much, you are certain that something needs to change, and that you don\u2019t want to be without forever. You have to work harder, and believe harder. The beauty in living in what most call \u201clack\u201d, is that you have to be innovative, you have to tap into that creative source that we\u2019re all born with. You oftentimes have to do the best with what you have, and\/or make something out of nothing. When you mix that drive with someone who was nurtured with values, skill sets, and intellect\u2026You get Sophia Omoro. Her story is inspiring. Check out this amazing interview with our sister Sophia below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FEMI STAFF (Tyrane Hughes): \u201cPlease, tell our readers about yourself, Sophia.\u201d<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sophia Omoro: \u201c<\/strong>I am a dreamer, (dangerously enormously so) who believes in living in and fulfilling one\u2019s purpose on earth. I am a practicing Otolaryngologist-Head and Neck surgeon, a philanthropist, founder of the Blooming Lily Foundation and the owner and designer of odAOMO, I was born and brought up in Kenya as one of eight siblings in a relatively under-privileged environment. My strict father pushed education, and because of this, I acquired a rare scholarship to springboard my journey out of Kenya and into North America. I achieved an International Baccalaureate, undergraduate, Medical, and Doctorate degrees. I always knew from a young age that I had a special calling in life, and this purpose was to be a multi-hyphenate. After finishing my residency, and stabilizing my medical career, in 2014 I set up the Blooming Lily Foundation (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloominglily.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.bloominglily.org<\/a>) to support and empower girls to fulfill their destinies and give back to their communities. In that same year, I also started odAOMO as a global give-back effort through fashion.
