Vudumane\u2019s story is much deeper than what meets the eye. Today, he is recognized as an accomplished afrobeats star with a fan base of over 1+ million followers across social networks. But the journey that led him to become a business mogul in Atlanta is quite outstanding. It was his humble beginnings growing up in Ghana that propelled the singer to entrepreneurship, knowing he would need money to fund his passion, which was always music. However, Vudumane\u2019s life took a turn when he landed himself in prison and had to serve a two-year sentence. With time on his hands, he mastered the art of barbering, he would practice on the inmates and even some of the prison guards, but his skills were unmatched. Today, he owns one of Atlanta\u2019s premier barbershops with a growing celebrity clientele. With all odds stacked against him, you can tell he is destined for greatness. Vudumane chopped it up with us about the inspiration behind his new single \u201cOh No\u201d and what fans can look forward to next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FEMI: We appreciate you coming through, Vudumane! Let’s start from the very beginning. Take us back to your childhood, what was it like growing up in Ghana?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vudumane: <\/strong>Man, it was tough, especially coming from the trenches. It was no joke, but above all, I pulled through and that made me stronger and the man I am today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

FEMI: Tell us about your decision to pause your music career and pursue entrepreneurship to open up your barbershop in Atlanta, Manhyia Palace Barbering. Since launching you’ve acquired an impressive celebrity clientele including Davido, DBanj, Wizkid & others, what’s your secret?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vudumane: <\/strong>Money Money Money. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

FEMI: Since your return to the music scene in 2019, afrobeats as a musical genre has taken over the world with widespread international coverage and hype! How do you intend to leave your mark?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vudumane: <\/strong>Oh, honestly, I\u2019m more than an average musician from Africa because I do it all and I can\u2019t wait to show the world what I\u2019m made of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FEMI: Your catalog of music is so versatile. You just released your latest single “Oh No”, which is going crazy on Youtube with over 115k views already! What w<\/strong>as your inspiration behind the song and your decision to film the music video in NYC?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vudumane: <\/strong>I once took a girl out and thought that I will get down with her the same night (as most men do) but after going out with her I asked her to come home with me and she smiled and hit me with \u201coh no, not tonight we can hang tomorrow\u201d. To be honest, I was disappointed lol. As for the video, I felt the New York project scenes would be perfect for the song and so that\u2019s what I did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
