Tubi, FOX Entertainment\u2019s free streaming service, will honor Black History Month with a celebration of stories, voices, and triumphs, featuring\u00a0thousands\u00a0of hours of Black film and television.\u00a0To anchor\u00a0this month-long tribute,\u00a0the service will debut two all-new\u00a0Tubi Originals: musical drama HOWARD HIGH, directed by Christopher B. Stokes (\u201cYou Got Served\u201d),\u00a0premiering\u00a0Friday, February 4;\u00a0and\u00a0PASS THE MIC, a\u00a0two-hour Tubi Original documentary spotlighting the careers of Lil Nas X, Lizzo and Kendrick Lamar,\u00a0debuting\u00a0Wednesday, February 16. And starting\u00a0Wednesday, February 2,\u00a0Tubi will be the only place where viewers can stream the entire first season of FOX\u2019s OUR KIND OF PEOPLE for free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to HOWARD HIGH and PASS THE MIC, more than 1,400 Black Cinema titles will be available on Tubi throughout Black History Month, including the award-winning documentary \u201cI Am Not Your Negro\u201d; \u201cSorry to Bother You,\u201d starring LaKeith Stanfield; \u201cBessie,\u201d featuring Queen Latifah, Michael K. Williams, Mo\u2019Nique and more; \u201cThe Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks\u201d; and \u201cThe Jacksons: An American Dream\u201d; as well as Tubi Originals TWISTED HOUSE SITTER, MOST WANTED SANTA and GIRLS GETAWAY GONE WRONG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Premiering\u00a0February 4, HOWARD HIGH follows a high school musical group that must compete against a rival school in order to save their arts program, while also battling issues from the inside. Based on the 2020 hit TV mini-series, which will be available on Tubi during Black History Month, HOWARD HIGH is an entertaining and fun-loving film that also sheds light on the challenges students and school arts programs face in underfunded neighborhoods. In addition to director Christopher B. Stokes, the film from Footage Films features an ensemble cast that includes Chrissy Stokes (\u201cSouthland\u201d), Anthony Lewis (\u201cMadea\u2019s Farewell Play\u201d),\u00a0Earanequa Carter, Lindsay Davis, Veronika Bozeman (\u201cKaren\u201d), Jarell Houston (\u201cYou Got Served\u201d), Christian Gonzalez and Kida Burns (\u201cBattlefield America\u201d), as well as Keith Sweat, Marques Houston, Ross Fleming, Hannah Malone, Deonte Jackson, Rayan Lopez, Diany Arias, Asha Franklin, and Lindsay Diann. Additionally, the\u00a0HOWARD HIGH original soundtrack will drop on\u00a0February\u00a04\u00a0on all digital platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Premiering\u00a0February\u00a016, Tubi\u2019s two-hour documentary from FOX Alternative Entertainment,\u00a0PASS THE MIC, celebrates the careers of Lil Nas X, Lizzo, and Kendrick Lamar, risk-takers and rebels who have used music as a way to shatter stereotypes and overcome adversity,\u00a0embodying the indomitable spirit symbolic of the Black experience. While they build on the movements of those that came before them, they are igniting their own movements \u2013 and inspiring a new generation\u00a0\u2013\u00a0to ensure their influence will live on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, starting on February 2, Season One of FOX\u2019s OUR KIND OF PEOPLE\u2019s will be available on Tubi. The series was inspired by Lawrence Otis Graham\u2019s provocative, critically acclaimed book, \u201cOur Kind of People: Inside America’s Black Upper Class,\u201d and takes place in the aspirational world of Oak Bluffs on Martha\u2019s Vineyard, a historical stronghold where the rich and powerful Black elite have come to play for more than 50 years. From writer and executive producer Karin Gist (\u201cStar,\u201d \u201cGrey\u2019s Anatomy\u201d) and executive producer Lee Daniels (\u201cEmpire,\u201d \u201cThe United States Vs. Billie Holiday\u201d), OUR KIND OF PEOPLE follows a strong-willed, single mom as she sets out to reclaim her family\u2019s name and make an impact with her revolutionary haircare line that highlights the innate, natural beauty of Black women. But she soon discovers a dark secret about her own mother\u2019s past that will turn her world upside-down and shake up this community forever. The show is a soapy, thrilling exploration of race and class in America and an unapologetic celebration of Black resilience and achievement.  Produced by 20th Television and FOX Entertainment, the series stars Yaya DaCosta (\u201cChicago Med,\u201d \u201cWhitney\u201d), Morris Chestnut (THE RESIDENT), Joe Morton (\u201cScandal\u201d), Nadine Ellis (\u201cLet\u2019s Stay Together\u201d), Lance Gross (\u201cHawaii 5-0\u201d), Rhyon Nicole Brown (\u201cEmpire\u201d), Kyle Bary (\u201cGinny & Georgia\u201d), Debbi Morgan (“Power Book II: Ghost,” “All My Children”) and newcomer Alana Bright.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
