Some people talk about reinvention. Aloni Ford <\/a><\/strong>lives it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her late thirties, when many people are settling into the comfort of routine, Ford decided to rewrite her story entirely. She stepped into the unfamiliar world of boating\u2014an industry historically lacking in diversity\u2014and within just a few short years, she has become one of the most inspiring new leaders in the Los Angeles boating community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her journey began not with grand ambition, but with simple curiosity. After signing up for sailing and powerboating classes through the Coast Guard, Ford discovered something that stirred her spirit. What started as a weekend hobby quickly became a full-blown passion. She immersed herself in the craft, studying navigation, aquatics, and maritime safety, often spending three days a week on the water sharpening her skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By 2024, Ford\u2019s dedication had propelled her into the world of competitive sailing, racing twice weekly with the California Yacht Club team. Her peers soon took notice, electing her as Social Director of the Women\u2019s Sailing Association of Santa Monica Bay. Yet, for Ford, titles have never been the goal.<\/p>\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt wasn\u2019t enough to just race,\u201d she shares. \u201cI wanted to give back, to create more diversity in the sport and make boating accessible to everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That desire to bridge worlds and bring people together inspired her next venture, Yacht Yoga, a signature experience that beautifully fuses mindfulness and movement with the calm rhythm of the sea. What began as a creative idea quickly blossomed into a sanctuary for women\u2014offering community, healing, and empowerment on the open water. Each session is more than yoga; it\u2019s a reminder of the freedom that comes when you allow yourself to breathe, to release, and to connect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond her entrepreneurial spirit, Ford\u2019s heart for mentorship shines brightly. She volunteers with the Jack and Jill of America Los Angeles Chapter, introducing youth to boating and water safety, helping them see new possibilities beyond their everyday surroundings. She also dedicates her time to the Crown Me Summer Program, supporting children from her hometown of Altadena\u2014many of whom lost their homes in recent wildfires\u2014by guiding them to find confidence and peace on the water.<\/p>\n\n\n

Through every venture, Aloni Ford embodies what it means to redefine possibility. Her story is proof that it\u2019s never too late to start again, to lead with purpose, and to invite others along for the ride.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBoating has given me peace, community, and purpose,\u201d she reflects. \u201cBut more than anything, it\u2019s shown me the importance of opening your mind to new experiences. You never know what\u2019s waiting on the other side of curiosity.\u201d<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ford\u2019s vision for the future is both bold and deeply personal: to make boating an inclusive, affordable, and welcoming space for all. She envisions communities\u2014particularly women and youth of color\u2014finding belonging on the water, a place once considered out of reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In doing so, she\u2019s not just navigating waves. She\u2019s transforming an industry, one ripple at a time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
