Grammy Song-Winning Writer and singer, Jackie’s Boy, has worked with many established artists and his billboard hits, Grammy’s, and other awards show for it. His most recent plaque received was for the Madonna Ft. David Guetta “Revolver Remix.” Or maybe you are an old R&B head and fell in love listening to Johnny Gill ft. New Edition “This ones for me and you,” which was the #1 R&B Billboard Charts in 2016. Jackie’s Boy has also worked with artists such as Chris Brown, Charlie Winston, 50 cent, and Tyga. You know you miss that old R&B feel, and Jackie’s Boy delivers that along with the new energy that just makes sense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, how incredible it is for FEMI Magazine to interview the amazing Jackie’s Boys to understand his love for music and background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Give us a history of your musical background. Who were your major influences? What specifically leads you to the music industry?<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

I grew up listening to singer\/songwriters; I guess that is why I became one. I was fascinated with Babyface, Mint Condition, Prince, and Michael Jackson. Watching those legends allowed me to find my voice, and that’s what led me to the music industry. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Savannah, Ga, is a unique city with various opportunities to get yourself out there. You spent 5+ years singing on the River Street; what was the vibe like for you? Has Savannah been an influence on your music, and how so?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Savannah taught me so many things, humility, struggle, joy, and a black lesson in America. Singing on River Street was very fun and allowed me to meet so many people from different places! It felt like I was traveling to a new city every night! I will forever have Savannah in my heart; that’s where I get my soul from. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You recently received your Madonna plaque. Congratulations; this is your third plaque received and second record to chart. Describe the motions you experienced when working on the record and how it feels to receive your third plaque?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Thanks so much! It’s funny that I have over 20 plaques to get! I am a bit of a procrastinator when it comes to decorating, and I recently purchased a new home, so I told my wife now is the time to start getting the plaques lol! Whenever I get a plaque, it almost Reminds me that it’s real! I know we can all look at a Billboard, but it’s something about seeing it on your wall. It’s an amazing feeling! <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

How are you using your music and platform to acknowledge today’s dismantling racial injustice system and the COVID-19?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

I recently released a project called The Black Chapter Vol. 1; I dedicated it to the fight against racial injustice in this country and worldwide. This project speaks to our trials, our pains, our beauty, and our victories. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anything new or developing that you would like to share with readers and fans?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Yes, I am releasing a Christmas project called “December Songs” end of November that is heavily R&B influenced and is a great vibe for people in the holiday mood. Also, my next EP in January will be released!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jackie’s Boy has always had a love for music and R&B since he was young, so growing into this genre’s power was natural. Also, Jackie’s Boy’s success can be contributed to many things; however, he acknowledges and appreciates his humble beginnings and where it has led him.
