The 6th Annual Women in Harmony Awards Luncheon<\/strong>, hosted by the National Urban League<\/strong> during Essence Festival weekend<\/strong>, was a powerful celebration of Black womanhood, impact, and intergenerational legacy. Held at the Ritz-Carlton in New Orleans, the exclusive event honored iconic figures, including music legend Patti LaBelle<\/strong>, groundbreaking producer Mara Brock Akil<\/strong>, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett<\/strong>, and beauty mogul Danessa Myricks<\/strong> under the theme \u201cHer Power, Her Prosperity.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

This red-carpet affair wasn’t just about awards; it was about affirming Black women\u2019s influence in entertainment, politics, and entrepreneurship. Marc H. Morial, President and CEO of the National Urban League, alongside Senior VP Rhonda Spears Bell, praised the honorees for \u201crecognizing the power of their platforms\u201d and using them to uplift the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The atmosphere was electric. Soul-stirring performances by GRAMMY-winning artists MAJOR and Howard Hewett set the tone, while author and coach Dr. Cheryl P. Williamson delivered an empowering keynote. Attendees were also treated to a \u201cSelf-Care Lounge\u201d featuring beauty consultations from Danessa Myricks Beauty and other wellness brands, a moment of restoration amid celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n

This annual tradition continues to spotlight women who challenge systems, rewrite narratives, and show up fully in their power. \u201cIt is an honor to create such an impactful moment for our community,\u201d said Spears Bell. And with over 350 changemakers in attendance, including Tisha Campbell, Stephanie Mills, D-Nice, and Marlo Hampton. This year\u2019s luncheon embodied harmony, prosperity, and legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
