That\u2019s exactly what happened to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/lindseyawalker?igsh=MnJicjFobWR3NHh1\">Lindsey Walker<\/a><\/strong>, CEO and Lead Publicist of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/walkerassocmediagroup?igsh=bmplcnM2eXp6MHlh\">Walker + Associates Media Group<\/a><\/strong>. At the time, she was fully immersed in growing her agency when she was forced to stop and face a fight she never expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">Now, Lindsey is sharing that journey for the first time on screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">Her new short documentary, <strong>Thriving Through The Storm<\/strong>, gives a raw and intimate look at what it meant to undergo treatment while still showing up for clients, balancing fear with faith, and ultimately, choosing herself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">The film will premiere during a free community screening on <strong>Saturday, June 21 from 12 PM to 2 PM at 760 Old Roswell Rd in Roswell, Georgia. <\/strong>Following the screening, a live panel conversation will feature women who, like Lindsey, have endured serious health challenges while leading in business and life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">Lindsey\u2019s story begins with disbelief. At 27, hearing the words \u201cStage IV cancer\u201d while in the thick of building her dream was unimaginable. \u201cI was in disbelief\u2014I couldn\u2019t wrap my head around what it really meant for my life,\u201d she shares. \u201cAt that moment, I didn\u2019t know what the next season would hold. I felt confused and frustrated. Nothing made sense.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">Yet even as she battled for her life, Lindsey chose to keep showing up\u2014for her clients, her vision, and herself. The documentary is her love letter to resilience and faith, a message to anyone enduring their own storm that there is another side. \u201cYour current circumstance doesn\u2019t define you\u2014it\u2019s simply a catalyst,\u201d she says. \u201cIt\u2019s the bridge God uses to take you to the next level, because there is better on the other side.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">That perspective fueled her to keep working through chemotherapy. The structure gave her a sense of normalcy, though it wasn\u2019t without its challenges. \u201cI wish I had known how much chemotherapy would affect my body,\u201d Lindsey says. \u201cIt forced me to let go of having a set schedule. I had to work when my body allowed it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">More than anything, she\u2019s learned to extend grace to herself. \u201cI didn\u2019t fully understand what my body needed. I would tell anyone going through it now: listen to your body and be gentle with yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">Her definition of success has also transformed. \u201cThese days, success looks like waking up in the morning. Breathing. Seeing my hair grow back. Having solid friendships and being surrounded by love,\u201d she says. \u201cWhat used to be about how much my business made or who I was connected to has now become about the fruit I\u2019m producing. It\u2019s about impact, legacy, and faith.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">Lindsey is also candid about the emotional toll of being expected to always be strong. \u201cAs Black women, we\u2019re often labeled as the strong one. During treatment, I tried to live up to that,\u201d she admits. \u201cI pushed through the pain until I physically couldn\u2019t anymore. It took a neighbor to carry me into the house for me to realize: I needed help.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">That moment was a turning point, and one she hopes others can learn from. \u201cWe\u2019re so used to pushing through, but we have to start asking for help. We have to advocate for ourselves. That \u2018strong Black woman\u2019 narrative can delay our healing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">With Thriving Through The Storm, Lindsey hopes to spark real conversations around entrepreneurship, wellness, and the emotional weight that Black women often carry in silence. \u201cMy hope is that this film sparks a shift in how we care for one another, how we check in, how we give and receive love, and how we set the standard for how we are treated.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p1\">More than a documentary, <strong>Thriving Through The Storm<\/strong> is a movement.
