Today, we are shedding light on a topic that is often overlooked: women as perpetrators of domestic violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joining us is Marcia N. Cole<\/a>, a transformational leader and author who has bravely tackled this subject in her book, “Shattered Yet Unbroken.” <\/a> After the tragic loss of her brother in a domestic violence incident, Marcia has dedicated her life to inspiring others through her journey of faith, forgiveness, and healing. As a registered nurse, empowerment speaker, and the visionary behind Faith, Focus, & Finish Strong Zoom Talk, she is a passionate advocate for mental health and domestic violence awareness, particularly within the Black community. Marcia’s mission is to help others heal and equip them with the tools for spiritual and emotional restoration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What was the inspiration behind your book?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marcia<\/strong>: The inspiration behind my book Shattered Yet Unbroken was to help others heal and bring awareness to domestic violence against Black men, a topic that is often overlooked. I wanted my story to be a source of healing for men, families, and generations to come. I also wanted people to understand that loss is not the end\u2014there is purpose in pain. Even when we don\u2019t understand it in the moment, God always has a plan. Through loss, we can still find peace, joy, and strength. My hope is that readers will learn how to turn loss into legacy, and most importantly, realize that forgiveness is necessary. It\u2019s not about the other person\u2014it\u2019s about your freedom. There is true power and healing in forgiving, and I want people to know that even in deep pain, they can rise, heal, and live again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What has been the most rewarding part of the book release process for you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marcia<\/strong>: The most rewarding part of the book release process has been using my voice boldly and unapologetically. I made a decision not to let fear, shame, or the opinions of others silence my truth. Releasing this book has been empowering because I didn\u2019t hold back\u2014I spoke for myself, for my brother, and for others who are suffering in silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How have readers responded to your book so far, and has any feedback surprised you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marcia<\/strong>: The response has truly overwhelmed and surprised me in the best way. I didn\u2019t realize how deeply my story would impact people\u2014especially those who haven\u2019t walked the exact same journey. Many readers shared that the book opened their eyes to topics they had never considered, like domestic violence against men and how often they suffer in silence. What shocked me most was how many people said the book helped them more than therapy, giving them clarity around grief and the power of forgiveness. I\u2019ve had men, women, and even children tell me they\u2019ve found healing through my story. Some have been inspired to forgive people who hurt them, and others said it encouraged them to start writing their own stories. People have even told me this needs to become a play or a movie, and they\u2019re already asking when the next book or event is coming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do you address the stigma surrounding domestic violence?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marcia<\/strong>: I address the stigma surrounding domestic violence by speaking about it openly and unapologetically. I help people identify toxic patterns and abusive behaviors, and I emphasize the importance of recognizing that men can also be victims. As a woman advocating for men, I\u2019ve faced criticism, but I won\u2019t let fear or societal pressure silence me. We live in a time where masculinity is often misunderstood or devalued, and I believe it\u2019s critical to restore dignity, protection, and safe spaces for our men. My mission is to bring awareness, create change, and encourage healing\u2014no matter how uncomfortable the conversation may be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
