San Diego Community Leader, Dr. Tristaca McCray, becomes World Kindness Secretary-General

World Kindness Movement President Nirmala Mehendale appointed Dr. Tristaca McCray of San Diego, California as the next Secretary-General of the World Kindness Movement (WKM). She took up her post on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022. 

Dr. Tristaca McCray is a peacebuilding and development community leader with over 25 years of service in national public service, non-governmental organizations, and the United Nations, focusing on fragile, mental health awareness, transitional, and humanitarian contexts in Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, United Kingdom, and the United States of America. 

Prior to her appointment as Secretary- General of the World Kindness Movement (WKM), Ms. Tristaca McCray serves as the Founder and Executive Director of NERDS RULE INC, NERDS RULE INC. ACADEMY, A BRAVE SPACE, and FIX YA CROWN Podcast for the past 11 years. 

Before that, she has enjoyed working in the medical field with patient care, severing on community boards as a mental health awareness advocate, teaching leadership, and Tristaca enjoys planting seeds of hope in under-served communities around the world. 

WKM is now recognized as the peak global body for Kindness and a platform for collaboration and sharing.  Members of the movement include over 27 nations with representatives from Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, India, Italy, Japan, Liberia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Romania, Scotland, South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Uganda, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States of America, and Zimbabwe.

25 years later, I am the first African American woman to be elected in this position. I made history in San Diego! -Dr. Tristaca
